Project promoter from Poland is looking for a school in Scandinavian countries to host a study visit Print

Project promoter (project SMOK) from Poland is looking for a school in Scandinavian countries to host a study visit. SMOK is an innovative project aimed at the development of the SMOK Model, a Teachers Training Program addressed to primary school teachers working with disabled and chronically ill children

ODiTK (Training and Consulting Company) is a training institution from Gdansk (Poland) and run an innovative project financed from European Social Fund, the aim of which is to develop and test a new Teachers Continual Training Programme. The programme is addressed to primary school teachers working with disabled and chronically ill children. It focuses on changing of the personal attitudes, prejudices and convictions of teachers as well as on providing them with the tools for work on the attitudes of their students and parents.

ODiTK tests many different ways of working with teachers in this project. One of the tools they want to test is a visit to a school that works with children in a very inclusive way. Their research clearly shows that Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway are among leading countries in the field of social inclusion of disabled people. ODiTK would like to learn more about the methods you use at primary schools to integrate ill or disabled students with healthy majority. They would like to ask a foreign school for hosting a group of 10 teachers and two trainers for 5 days and sharing with them with school’s experience in this field. The visit would take place between 20 January and 2 February 2014. The grant shall cover all the expenses (accommodation, travel, translator and insurance).
